I have been a junior national/national team and professional fight coach and trainer for 15 years.
I thrive on competition, and I have set up training centers where fighters can nourish their intensity and train with other like-minded individuals and receive preparation to excel at the highest level in combat sport. I competed on national teams for 20 years, so I know the importance of a team community and representing an organization with pride and dignity.
As a fight coach and cornerman, I travel extensively with athletes. I have broad experience applying sport psychology to help athletes improve their mental acuity and overcome anxiety and other psychological barriers. I utilize aspects of life coaching to help them develop daily routines to maximize their time, set realistic goals, balance family life, and use better judgement so that their sport performances are optimal and consistent. This requires me to stay current with and employ technological advances in multiple disciplines. I have spent 20 years studying every aspect of sleep science—quality sleep being the most important factor in consistency.
I am a trainer for athletes preparing for the Olympics in a variety of disciples. I developed systematic approaches to the four-year preparation in order to make continual gains, peak at the right time, and stay healthy during the course of training.
In addition to training fighters and athletes for the Olympics, I have also trained high school, college, and professional athletes participating in tennis, football, basketball, soccer, baseball, ballet, wrestling, swimming, hockey, and lacrosse.
I have trained over 100 active and retired military and law enforcement personnel.
I have over 25 years experience training and teaching martial arts to children and adults with disabilities (see volunteer work), including: mobility disorders such as muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, ALS, Parkinson’s, MS, rheumatoid and juvenile arthritis; congenital skeletal disorders; amputees from trauma/acquired medical conditions.
