Personal Training/Clinical Exercise/Rehabilitation:
I will discuss with you your sport, health, and appearance goals and any past limitations you have encountered in achieving these goals.
I will review your medical history and pre-existing medical conditions. Programs will be structured around current injuries, recent surgeries, pregnancy (and attempting to conceive), and acute or chronic pain conditions. I will also measure and assess your cardiac and pulmonary function tests.
I will do a preliminary analysis of your primary physical attributes: strength, power, speed, aerobic/anaerobic endurance, flexibility, balance, and reaction time. I will record data at each session to ensure improvements in these parameters.
Long-term objectives include learning proper technique, correcting muscle imbalances, improving bone density, and reversing current muscle, tendon, ligament, and cartilage damage. Achieving these objectives will prevent future acute and chronic injuries.

personal training disciplines offered:
martial arts/self defense: boxing, karate, jiu jitsu, MMA, muay thai, taekwon do, wrestling
traditional fitness routines: free weights, kettlebells, resistance bands, wrist/ankle weights, TRX suspension, body-weight training, plyometrics, agility drills
sport stretching (static passive/active, dynamic, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation), yoga
mat and contemporary Pilates
aqua-exercise
meditation, breathing exercises

Nutrition Advising:
I have maintained a database for 20 years of the healthiest foods from around the world with an analysis and gram for gram comparison of their nutritional benefits and deficiencies. This data is necessary for weight-class athletes such as myself who must be a specific weight at a specific time and for soldiers who can only carry limited food supplies on themselves in the field. However, it is applicable to anyone trying to lose weight.
I perform an analysis of clients’ body composition and current diet. I use this data to design eating regimens and meal plans to improve:

appearance:
Whether you want a certain body type to feel more confident or to wear certain clothes, or you are a model or ballet dancer and are required to maintain a certain physique consistently, this can only be achieved in a healthy way using a scientific approach. Weight loss can be sustained long-term by understanding which foods and supplements signal the areas of the brain responsible for appetite control and mood enhancement.
work productivity:
If you are working in an intense field requiring 60-80 hour weeks on low sleep and requiring travel, a flawless diet can augment your work output. Foods must be carefully selected to release the proper neurotransmitters in the brain to stimulate creativity and memory and to leave you focused and not sleepy after eating. I will provide methods for carrying and preparing food on the go.
sport performance:
Nutritional biochemistry, along with sophisticated training methods, is responsible for world records being broken on a daily basis and athletes getting bigger, faster, and stronger at a rate not possible through evolution of our genes. It is no longer possible to be competitive at the highest levels of sport or to realize your maximum genetic potential without an engineered nutrition regimen.
For weight-class sports, this is even more challenging, because you are training on a sub-optimal calorie level. Thus, every gram you put into your body must have the maximum amount of nutrients. Foods are not simply ‘healthy’ or ‘non healthy.’ Rather, the healthiest foods must be compared and even ‘healthy’ foods avoided if they do not measure up to ones which are more nutrient dense.

disease treatment and prevention:
I review the scientific literature daily for studies on foods and dietary supplements that have demonstrated a positive or negative clinical impact on specific diseases.
I design nutrition and supplement regimens for:
Cardiovascular conditions: hypertension, angina, coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease, chronic venous insufficiency
Dermatological conditions: acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer prevention for excessive sun exposure, shingles
Endocrine conditions: diabetes (type 1/2, gestational, MODY), thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders
Gastrointestinal conditions: GERD, peptic ulcer disease, chronic gastritis, gastric cancer; Crohn’s/ulcerative colitis, diverticulosis, celiac disease, IBS, colorectal cancer; cirrhosis, hepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma, gallstones/gallbladder/biliary disorders; pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis
Hematological conditions: anemias, leukemias, lymphomas
Immunological conditions: lupus, HIV/AIDS
Musculoskeletal conditions: osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, polymyalgia rheumatica, polymyositis, muscular dystrophies
Neurological conditions: multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, dementia (Alzheimer’s, vascular), peripheral neuropathy, ALS, cerebral palsy, chronic pain syndromes
Obstetric/Reproductive conditions: pregnancy (prepartum, postpartum), reduced fertility, menopausal onset symptoms, uterine fibroids
Psychiatric conditions: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, chronic fatigue syndrome, ADHD
Respiratory conditions: asthma, sinusitis, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, tuberculosis
Sleep conditions: difficulty falling asleep, nighttime awakenings, sleep apneas
Urological conditions: recurrent kidney stones, urinary tract infections, benign prostatic hyperplasia
Sport Psychology:
Youth and adult clients accepted.
I am fortunate to be able to perform my best while under great pressure. My experiences with stress in sport and medicine help me relate to others going through similar situations. I have encountered hundreds of talented individuals who were never able to reach their full potential due to an inability to cope with pressure.
I draw on techniques from my medical training in psychiatry and psychology to help athletes improve their mental acuity and overcome anxiety and other psychological barriers that limit performance. These techniques are applicable to achieving success in all aspects of life, particularly in test taking at school and work presentations.
techniques utilized include:
Guided visualization
Subliminal stimuli
Meditation
Breathing exercises

Life Coaching/Counseling:
I help clients develop daily routines to maximize their time, set realistic goals, balance family life, and use better judgement so that their work, academic, and sport performances are optimal and consistent.
I will discuss with you your ambitions, vision for a great life, and barriers you have faced in achieving your goals.
I have been fortunate to have worked around some of the world’s most intelligent, athletic, and compassionate people, and I will impart to you their common characteristics and the methods they have employed to achieve this status.
I will utilize classical and modern behavioral modification techniques to alter behaviors and negative thought cycles that are limiting productivity and success.
I will teach you strategies to cope with pressure at work, school, and home so that stress does not impact your work output, relationships, or health.
I will address any disruptive addictive behaviors you may have, including substance abuse, overeating, and gambling.

Sleep Consulting:
I will discuss with you the problems you are having getting restful sleep at home or while traveling and strategies to overcome them.
I will teach you the biology of sleep and provide you with the latest findings in sleep science.
I will employ sleep technologies in a systematic manner to improve sleep outcomes. This includes analyzing sleep data from wearable devices in order to design sleep regimens and recognize pathological conditions such as obstructive and central sleep apneas. Other technologies include visual stimulus glasses, earplug technologies, ambient sound systems, temperature control systems, allergen control, and methods of blocking out light and sound from your bedroom.
Other approaches to improve sleep include:
Behavioral modification techniques to improve sleep hygiene.
Reducing anxiety and negative thoughts close to bedtime.
Reducing exposure to certain forms of light and sound known to inhibit sleep-inducing hormones.
Breathing and meditation regimens that induce brainwaves, hormones, and neurotransmitters favorable for sleep.
Diet plans and nutritional supplements that increase hormones and neurotransmitters favorable for sleep.

Nutritional and Sport Product Design:
I will design any type of supplement, meal plan, sport equipment/machine, or therapeutic aid that your company is interested in or I can recommend potential products that are currently absent from the marketplace and can have a major impact. These include nutritional products for schools, nursing homes, gyms, and internet sales. Exercise equipment design can be for home or commercial use.

Seminars:
I am available as a lecturer for: colleges; medical/physical therapy/nursing/biomedical graduate school; professional/college sports teams; national sports training centers and sports academies; ballet companies and academies; business retreats.
