My current research involves sports medicine and human performance, including cartilage regeneration, joint trauma, muscle development, nutritional and metabolic biochemistry, and anti-aging.
I have helped set up human performance centers and combat sport gyms on 4 different continents and for the military. I have also served as a personal physician and scientific consultant for over 100 professional athletes (including over 80 UFC/Bellator fighters and 5 world-titlist boxers), 4 pro sports teams, 2 Olympic training centers, and 5 nutritional supplement/exercise equipment companies.
I am the CEO of FirstLook Medical, a startup company founded in 2019 that focuses on artificial intelligence applications in medicine, notably cancer detection. I have been involved in the founding of five startup-technology companies, ranging from drug and vaccine design to biomechanics.
I serve as a consultant for research projects involving basic cancer biology and translational oncology.
I spent the first twelve years of my scientific career designing drugs and vaccines against malaria and tuberculosis, two of the major causes of child mortality in developing countries. I also conducted basic science research and drug design for cancer and AIDS.
I hold multiple patents for drug and vaccine designs against the world’s deadliest diseases, and I have published original research in the leading scientific journals, including Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Biochemistry, GENE, and Journal of Bacteriology
